Jackson Umbarger is a fourth generation co-owner of Roy Umbarger and Sons, Inc.  He serves as secretary/treasurer and over sees the day to day operations of company.  Jackson provides tremendous energy and enthusiasm for his job that creates a great environment for the employee’s. 

 

Jackson has served every role at Umbarger Show Feeds.  He started out working for Rusty in the mill while in high school.  While in the mill, Jackson made, bagged, and stacked feed.  He also helped with the loading of trucks and the delivery of the products to the customers.  This experience gives him a valuable insight into the day to day operations of Umbarger Show Feeds.  Along with overseeing the feed division Jackson has also runs the fertilizer/grain division of Roy Umbarger and Sons, Inc.

 

Jackson was also a 10 year 4-H member.  During his 4-H career Jackson showed swine and even captured Grand Champion barrow at the Johnson Co. Fair.  This gives him a great understanding of what livestock projects can do for youth and the importance of the products Umbarger’s are providing.

 

Under his leadership the company has grown to over 10 million in annual sales.

Tom Boese
Salesman

Tom Boese joined Umbarger Show Feeds in 1991 at the launching of our new line of Show Feed.  Prior to joining Umbarger Show Feeds, Tom and his brother operated their own feed and grain business for forty years.  Tom is a graduate of Purdue University, School of Agriculture and has been active in the livestock feed industry for more than 55 years.

 

Tom has been an active horseman most of his life; starting with the breaking and riding of contest horses as a boy, breeding, training and showing fine harness Shetland ponies for twenty years and just recently selling his interest in some Standard Bred horses.

 

In his spare time, Tom has served on the Deans Agricultural Advisory Council at Purdue University, is past president of The Indiana Grain and Feed Association, past president of the Indiana Shetland Pony Breeders Association and has served as Chairman of the board of directors of the Greenfield County Club. 

 

Tom’s long association with the agricultural industry and Umbarger Show Feeds, his knowledge of animal nutrition and his dedication make Tom a valued employee.

Tom and Donna, his wife of 53 years, have two children and four grandchildren.  They currently reside in Greenfield, Indiana. 

   
   

 

Eric King

Eric King joined Umbarger Show Feeds in 2008.  Eric graduated from The Ohio State University in 2006 with a degree in Animal Sciences.  Before joining the Umbarger team, Eric managed a cow/calf and show cattle operation in northwest Ohio.  Eric is our salesman for Ohio, Michigan, Pennsylvania, and North Carolina.  Eric works with dealers and customers on a daily basis and holding many show and feed clinics throughout the year.

 

Eric grew up on a registered Angus and grain farm located in Tiffin, Ohio.  Eric was involved in 4-H for 10 years and FFA during high school.  During his 4-H and FFA career, Eric showed cattle, sheep, and swine at the local, state, and national level. 

 

Eric brings determination and knowledge of the livestock industry to make him a valuable asset to our company. Involvement in the show industry helps Eric relate to different needs of the customers.

 

Eric and his wife, Megan, reside in Findlay, Ohio and have one son, Wyatt.  In his spare time he helps out on the family farms and volunteers for many different organizations in the livestock industry.  You will also see Eric and his family at many livestock shows all over the country.

   
   

 

Ryan Kephart

Ryan Kephart joined Umbarger Show Feeds in the fall of 2009.  Ryan graduated from Purdue University in 2001 with a degree in Education.  While at Purdue Ryan participated on the Livestock Judging team and this experience helped propel him into a career in the feed business.  Before joining Umbarger’s Ryan worked for a major feed company and managed a sales territory in Illinois.  Ryan is responsible for our swine program and overseeing our website. 

 

Ryan grew up on a grain and hog farm just south of Bargersville.  He was a 10 year 4-H member and participated in showing swine at every level possible.  While in college, Ryan spent one summer with Umbarger Show Feeds working a night shift in the feed mill.

Ryan brings a strong knowledge and passion for the show industry with him to Umbarger Show Feeds.  His knowledge of show pigs and ability to relate to both adults and kids will provide a tremendous asset to our company.

 

Ryan and his wife, Amanda, reside in Whiteland and are the proud parents of two children.  In his spare time you find Ryan and his family at various pig and livestock shows around the country.

   
   

 

Rusty Reed
Feed Production Manager

Meet Rusty Reed our Feed Production Manager.  Rusty joined the Umbarger team in 1996 working on the feed production night shift.  After he graduated from Whiteland Community High School, Rusty began working full-time in the Feed Production Division spending time learning all aspects of feed production and was eventually promoted to his current position of Feed Production Manager.  His duties include management of the Umbarger feed production, quality control and warehouse oversight. 

 

Rusty has been very involved in agriculture and was an active member of FFA.  He was also a 10-year member of 4-H and showed dairy cows.  Rusty brings a love of agriculture and a can do attitude to the Umbarger Show Feeds team.

 

Rusty and his wife, Erin, live in Bargersville and are the parents of 4 children.  In his spare time, Rusty is involved in many school activities and after school sports activities.

   
   

 

Jason Walker

In 2001, Jason Walker joined the Umbarger Show Feeds team after moving from Russellville, Arkansas.  Jason is a graduate of Arkansas Tech University with a degree in Agriculture Business. 

Jason has an agricultural background and was raised on a farm in Arkansas where he helped with their cow/calf operation.  Jason was also an active member in his Future Farmers of America club and he showed livestock in 4-H. 

 

Jason wears many hats at Umbarger Show Feeds.  His responsibilities include Retail Sales Manager, Dispatch Controller and Feed Order Coordinator. 

 

Umbarger’s is also a grain elevator purchasing corn and soybeans from local growers.  During harvest Jason is also responsible for weighing grain trucks and grading grain.  In August, 2006, Jason attended Grain Quality School and became a certified grain grader by the Indiana Agribusiness Council.

 

Jason’s strong agricultural background and his ability to adjust to different demands makes him a valuable team player. 

 

Jason and his wife, Carrie, have been married for ten years and have a daughter, Taylor.  They currently reside in Franklin, Indiana.
