Originally from Ashmore, Illinois Chester was a 10 year 4H and active FFA member. Chester spent his youth showing hogs and Shorthorn cattle as well as competing on livestock judging teams. His passion for livestock evaluation led him to Lakeland College, in Mattoon, IL and then Texas A&M University. During his judging career Chester was a member of three national champion teams. Chester graduated from Texas A&M in 1998 with double degrees in Animal Science and Agriculture Economics.
After graduation Chester moved back to central Illinois where he managed 30,000 acres of farm ground for Boyd Pierce Farm Management. After marrying his wife, Christian, they moved to west Michigan where Chester co-owned a 5000 acre corn and soybean operation. Career changes for Christian brought several moves for Chester and they found themselves on the front range of Colorado where Chester went back to farm management and real estate with Farmland Management Services, a subsidiary of John Hancock Investments. In 2010 Chester returned to the Midwest and most recently has worked as Indy Family Farms Business Development Manager. During his four years at Indy Family Farms Chester has helped increase efficiency and maximize profitability.
Chester works as the Grain Marketing Manager for Umbarger.
Chester, Christian and their daughter, Caty Beth, reside in Trafalgar and can be found on days off working with their Shorthorn cattle and exhibiting cattle and pigs at local and national shows.
